What opportunities and challenges does it create for remembrance culture in the digital age? These are the central questions of the international Summer School <strong>&#8220;AIdentity \u2013 The Past Through Modern Lenses&#8221;<\/strong>, which will take place in G\u00f6rlitz from <strong>18 July to 1 August 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by <strong>Meetingpoint Memory Messiaen e.V.<\/strong>, the project brings together 25 young people from Saxony, Poland, Italy, and Ukraine. Through workshops, study visits, and creative project work, participants will explore the history of National Socialism, with a particular focus on Nazi forced labour in G\u00f6rlitz and the prisoner-of-war camp <strong>Stalag VIII A<\/strong>. At the same time, they will develop a critical and responsible understanding of artificial intelligence and digital media.<\/p>\n<p>At the heart of the project lies the question of how modern technologies can be used to communicate historical topics in ways that are contemporary, critical, and accessible. Participants will create their own digital media projects, including podcasts, videos, interactive maps, augmented reality tours, and AI-supported visualizations. In this context, AI is not treated as an end in itself, but as a tool for research, analysis, storytelling, and creative educational work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Young people use AI as a natural part of their everyday lives. Uczestnicy przedstawi\u0105 swoje prace i wsp\u00f3lnie z przedstawicielami \u015brodowisk edukacyjnych, kulturalnych oraz organizacji spo\u0142ecze\u0144stwa obywatelskiego b\u0119d\u0105 dyskutowa\u0107 o tym, jak mo\u017ce wygl\u0105da\u0107 demokratyczna kultura pami\u0119ci przysz\u0142o\u015bci.<\/p>\n<p>Wszystkie opracowane materia\u0142y multimedialne oraz towarzysz\u0105cy projektowi podr\u0119cznik metodyczny zostan\u0105 opublikowane jako Otwarte Zasoby Edukacyjne (Open Educational Resources \u2013 OER). Dzi\u0119ki temu szko\u0142y, miejsca pami\u0119ci i instytucje edukacyjne b\u0119d\u0105 mog\u0142y z nich korzysta\u0107 oraz rozwija\u0107 je w przysz\u0142o\u015bci.<\/p>\n<p>Projekt Aidentity \u0142\u0105czy edukacj\u0119 cyfrow\u0105, nauk\u0119 historii i uczestnictwo w kulturze, tworz\u0105c innowacyjne europejskie przedsi\u0119wzi\u0119cie edukacyjne.
