Students from the Bischofswerda High School, Elementary School No. 5, the Emilia Plater High School Complex and the \u015aniadeckich Brothers High School in Zgorzelec were able to learn about Jewish history and religion, as well as learn more about the life of Jewish communities. An important part of the program was a tour of the newly restored synagogue in G\u00f6rlitz, which now serves as a cultural forum.<\/p>\n
The Polish-German workshop was led by Dr. Gunda Ulbricht of Hatikva in Dresden (Place for Education and Encounters with Jewish History and Culture), Ms. Anett B\u00f6ttger and Dr. Markus Bauer – both from the Society of Friends of the G\u00f6rlitz Synagogue.<\/p>\n
Mutual communication was possible thanks to the presence of a translator, Ms. Agata Grabczewski.<\/p>\n
As part of the workshop, 124 students visited the G\u00f6rlitz Synagogue Cultural Forum. The organizers received many positive comments from those who participated.<\/p>\n
The workshop is part of the INTERREG project “To know and understand.
